Consolidation and 3-swipe rally of HPT as seen in an hourly chart 20180328.


In the above hourly chart of HPT with basic technical indicators such as SMA(5), SMA(13) and Bollinger Band (50,2), price consolidation followed by a 3-swipe rally are clearly seen.

The use of fan lines to plan for breakout investments. A case study of HPT weekly.


HPT has been traded in SET market for about 3 years now. Most of the time, it spent for moving sideway in the price range of 0.92-1.51 THB per share with occasional peaks. This chart shows that the share holders keep supporting the price in this range waiting for a breakout at a proper time in the future. Since Europeans are the main customers of HPT's products, one of the reasons for delay in price recovery after IPO might be resulting from EU mild trade sanction to Thailand during present non-democratic ruling in the country. Until recently when EU sent a signal to resume its FTA negotiation processes with Thailand, the time awaited are now coming closer for HPT. If the fan lines were to be drawn from the IPO's peak to the occasional peaks during the past 3 years, we can roughly tell that the breakout is near by looking at condensation of the fan lines.

What had happened before the recent breakout of HPT ?


Since December 2017, HPT daily chart has shown development of "higher highs and higher lows" pattern while share prices were consolidated in a slightly upward channel. The MACD Signal during this consolidation has been trying to stay above zero axis. It moved from negative to positive side and then moved down to test if it could stay positive. The recent test on 20180219 has been successful.
