Big rallies of SET in its early years.


SET index was established in 1975 amid overwhelming fear of communism in Thailand. Starting from October 6th, 1976 Thammasat Massacre of student activists and military coup deta that installed a civil government led by Thannin Kraivicien as a prime ministor, SET responded with a huge rally throughout the year due to his policies in strong anti-communism. The market paused a bit when the military staged another coup deta and installed General Kriangsak Chamanan as a new prime minister in October 1977. SET index resumed its rally again as the new government still follow similar policies against communism.
